If you book Gordon for a day in the Highlands, you will have a brilliant day’s walking with a  knowledgeable guide and a great walking companion!  He spent time researching various walks to give me options for the day and matched them up to my fitness level.  All the advance planning paid off and we had a wonderful day, high up in the hills with the sun out plus, as a bonus, I learned so much about the rock formations, flora and fauna.   Gordon – I shall be back next year and thank you!

Meg R (Canberra, Australia)

Your guiding made the trip! I learnt heaps – you share your extensive knowledge with grace and generosity. You chose the walks well, paced them brilliantly and made me feel both safe and comfortable. I especially enjoyed learning about the history of the area and was grateful for the additional knowledge around rocks, plants and wildlife that helped the past to come alive and (along with our lively conversations!) gave me a much broader understanding of today’s Scotland. If I ever get the chance again I’ll certainly come looking to learn more about the Highlands! Thank you.

We had a wonderful day in the Scottish Highlands (Glen Coe). I can highly recommend Gordon as a guide. Very professional, friendly and well prepared he made this very rainy day a highlight of our trip to Scotland.

Marlies V (Rotterdam, Netherlands)

As a finale to walking the West Highland Way we climbed Ben Nevis. Under Gordon’s guidance our ‘day in the clouds’ was a memorable one. Gordon delighted us with information about our surroundings ranging from the rock formations to carnivorous plants. On the summit we were truly lucky and were able to witness a Brocken Spectre. As the clouds parted around us the views were breathtaking. We all enjoyed Gordon’s company very much and he was ever so patient during our careful descent. Gordon, thank you for a wonderful day.

This is my third day being guided by Gordon and another great experience.  Gordon is knowledgeable about the terrain, the flora and fauna and is able to point out every point of interest on the route.  He is always well equipped and I feel very safe when I am walking with him, even when I am challenged by new terrain or techniques.  He’s also flexible about pace whilst always keeping in mind the time and conditions.  For my Aussie nephew, this was his first big mountain having done lots around the Pentlands.  He was left feeling completely inspired and has found something he will commit to long term.

Clair W (Nottingham)

From booking through to completion this was an extremely professional and well organised event.  The CMD route was indescribable, and an absolute ‘must’ for enthusiasts looking to push their personal boundaries.   The experience (was) heightened by the reassurance of a very experienced, informative and sociable guide.  A very big and warm thank you to GA Highland Walks for a very special and enjoyable experience.

Sven M (Hamburg, Germany)

It was our first hike in the Highlands so we profited from Gordons open and friendly attitude. Due to his professional preparation we could fully enjoy the outstanding scenery of the Highlands.   We would definitely do it again.

Cath M (Sydney, Australia)

Thank you so much for your excellent guiding on Ben Nevis. We had a lot of fun, it was just a great day out on the mountain. We are so glad you recommended that route. You were the perfect companion on our walk, I think we actually forgot that you were our guide!  So thank you Gordon for your professional yet completely relaxed guiding service, we would not hesitate to recommend you to our friends.

Rob B (Connecticut, USA)

Gordon provided an environment while hiking and traveling to our hiking destinations that was comfortable for my wife, myself and our 13 year old daughter.  Along the way Gordon was able to keep our interests providing historical, geological and botanical information about Scotland and the Highland areas.  The presentations were subtle enough that my daughter was able to recall facts of the lessons provided and identify many of the plants and flowers as we hiked.  The hiking was grand and the scenery fantastic.

Katie Z (Nebraska, USA)

I couldn’t have found a better guide to make the most of it.   I was very pleased with the knowledge, respect, and experience Gordon has.

Kate G (Edinburgh)

I just wanted to thank you for a great day on Friday, Justin and I both really enjoyed it.

Debbie W (New Jersey, USA)

It was a great adventure.  Gordon kept us safe, challenged, informed on so many different levels.  I feel like I gained a connection with the people, the history and the lands of Scotland with Gordon as my guide.  Would recommend to anyone seeking a wonderful Highland adventure.

Keith R (Stirling)

I am a regular walker but I wanted some help with some more adventurous hills in the Western Highlands.  Gordon was the perfect choice – he provided the support and confidence boost that I needed and we had two great days out – we got on really well together and it was just like walking with a trusted friend.  I really can recommend him as a guide.

Sheena Y (Drome, France)

Gordon, we were thrilled with our trip and with your service.  With all of the bits of information that you provided during our walks, whether it be about geology, history or the flora and fauna of the site, you were able to provide us with a truly complete experience. The walks you suggested were right on target, and each presented us with a different landscape and atmosphere; something that we appreciated as our trip was quite short.

Paul T (Lothian)

A big thanks for 2 great days. I had a brilliant, informative and thrilling time. Your wide knowledge, professionalism and encouragement has given my confidence a real boost, and raised my aspirations for tackling the Scottish mountains. Somehow, you helped me feel secure yet really challenged at what I was doing under your watchful eye. Sincere thanks Gordon for not one, but two walks I’ll never forget!

Ina N (Liverpool)

We couldn’t have wished for a more pleasant and competent guide. During the walks and at appropriate stops, Gordon shared his vast knowledge, eg of the flora and fauna, by pointing to flowers and plants which would have been so easily by-passed and overlooked and of the geological and cultural changes in these areas. This added an interesting and extra enjoyable dimension to our overall fantastic experience.

Gordon’s professionalism, expertise and passion for his country shone through. During both our walks he ensured, not only that each of us could keep up with the pace but also, that we all enjoyed ourselves. This we did in huge measures!!

Sheila K (Alberta, Canada)

Thank you so much for making my holiday in the Highlands an absolute joy. The walks where geared to my pace, I never felt rushed. They incorporated many different areas within the Highlands. So for my brief visit there I got a good perspective of Highland walking. The travel arrangements made the trip a breeze; this was a big bonus being picked up at my accommodations and dropped off. The knowledge of the history, geography and flora shared with me made the hills special, and I truly enjoyed the side trips to see the broch and castle ruins. Thank you so very much.

Nicky P-J (Edinburgh)

Thank you for such a great day walking. You pitched the levels just right for us – the walk was lovely, just tough enough to feel like exercise but the views were amazing and the distance just right… I’d definitely recommend you to anyone interested in seeing Scotland on foot.

Alan D (Yorkshire)

I really enjoyed the day, and look forward to doing something similar sooner rather than later.  Gordon was a delight in terms of knowledge, skill and communication.

Val R (British Columbia, Canada)

We thoroughly enjoyed our time with you and hope to do some more walking with you in the future.
